Semi muslin is what shops in Bangladesh call a light, smooth, slightly sheer saree fabric in the style of traditional muslin. It is the softest and airiest fabric we use, and it holds block prints cleanly.
What it looks and feels like
- Weight: very light.
- Hand: soft and smooth against the skin.
- Drape: flowing; it moves when you walk and still holds its pleats.
- Weather: the most comfortable of our fabrics in heat and humidity.
Best for
Long festival days, Durga Puja, daytime events and summer.
Care
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent; wash a new block-printed saree on its own the first time. Dry in the shade and iron while very slightly damp. More in our saree care guide.
