Red and White for Durga Puja: Anjali, Arunima and Bodhua

Three semi muslin block-print sarees in the traditional Puja colours, and which one suits which day.

Red and white are the colours most people reach for during Durga Puja. We made three semi muslin sarees with that in mind, each with a different balance of the two colours.

Anjali: for the morning offering

Anjali white semi muslin saree with red alpona and lotus block print

Anjali shares its name with the morning flower offering of Puja. It is white with red hand block prints inspired by Bengali alpona and lotus motifs, 14 haat long, and light enough to wear from early morning through the day.

Arunima: white with a bridal touch

Arunima is white with red and golden block prints taken from traditional bridal kolka motifs. A lace border and red tassels on the achol finish it. It is the dressiest of the three.

Bodhua: red first

Bodhua turns the colours around: a bright red body with fine white and black block prints, achol work and matching tassels. Good for evenings and for Bijoya Dashami.
